ACI Yavapai is a community-based Buddhist and wellness group that offers classes in Tibetan Buddhist philosophy as well as yoga, meditation, group practice, and wellness courses, plus vegetarian pot lucks and hiking parties. Explore the art of being happy through weekly classes and special events.
This is a group for anyone in the East Valley (or those willing to drive), interested in Buddhism, particularly Zen. Any level of interest is invited; lifetime practitioners and soul-searchers alike. Over the years, I have noticed a lack of Buddhist-related activities and groups in Phoenix and the East Valley and am looking to rectify that, by providing a supportive, open group for people to learn, discover, and share.

Beginning and experienced meditators are welcome to sit with us. The group is grounded in Vipassana (Insight) meditation but any form of silent, still meditation is welcome. We sit on a raised wood dance floor. There are some chairs but you are welcome to bring your own mat, cushion, bench or chair and take them home when you leave. The Desert Mountain Sangha is a lay-led Zen Buddhist Meditation group. The Sangha is non-affiliated, however, the meditation practice is in the tradition of the Diamond Sangha founded by the late Roshi Robert Aitken. The Sangha was formed to facilitate a means to practice Zen meditation. All persons wanting to participate in an hour long Zen meditation, followed by an optional, half-hour session of sutra chanting are welcome. The Sangha currently meets at a Yoga Center in Central Phoenix AZ.
